Biography

Musician in the multiple talents, Alexandra Cravero knew how to impose his charismatic personality and his outstanding commitment within the conductors’ new generation.

Having obtained the Diploma of State at the age of 20, the 1st prize of viola unanimously at CNSM of Lyon in Tasso Adamopoulos’class in 2003 and the Master’s degree of conducting in the CNSM of Paris in 2011 w Zsolt Nagy ‘s class, Alexandra Cravero is finalist main international competitions of conducting :  Hart Institute for Women Conductor, Dallas (USA), concours international de chef·fe·s d’orchestre de Besançon (France), Pedrotti (Italy) , Cadaques (Spain).

Alexandra Cravero has met and worked with Maestri such as Kurt Masur, Pierre Boulez, Marin Alsop, Patrick Davin, Philippe Ferro, Pierre-André Valade, Graziella Contratto, Alain Guingal, Tito Ceccherini, et Jean-Pierre Haeck and Arie Van Beek.

Alexandra Cravero has been invited to conduct in France – l’Opéra de Rouen, l’Opéra du Rhin, l’Orchestre National de Lillel’orchestre de Normandie, l’orchestre des pays de Savoie, l’Orchestre d’Auvergne,  Court Circuit Ensemble – and international orchestras –  BBC Orchestra (UK), the Dallas Opera Compagny, the St Luke’s Orchestra of New York (USA), Canadian Opera Compagny of Toronto (Canada), Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (UK), Scottish Opera, (UK) Lyric Opera Productions (Ireland) Neue Philharmonie Westfalen (Germany), The Metropolitan Orchestra (Australia), in Kölner Philharmonie (Germany), Royal Albert Hall (UK), Sydney Town Hall (Australia), Sofia’s Radio Orchestra and Choir (Bulgaria), Monnaie’ Orchestra and Choir (Belgium),  Orchestra e Coro della Fondazione Petruzzelli (Italy) in prestigious hall – Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris), Opéra Comique (Paris),  Théâtre des Champs Elysées, la Cité de la Musique de Paris, la Filature de Mulhouse, the Dolby Theatre of Los Angeles (USA), Disney Concert Hall (USA), Dallas Opera (USA), Royal Albert hall (UK)

In operatic programs, Alexandra Cravero works with great singers as Annick Massis, Michael Spyres, Magdalena Kozena, Maria Katzarava, Etienne Dupuis, Alexandre Duhamel, Sébastien Guèze.

Her operatic repertoire crosses the centuries:  Mozart (le Nozze di Figaro, die Zauberflöte), Bizet (Carmen, les Pêcheurs de Perles), Verdi (la Traviata, la Forza del Destino), Puccini (Tosca, la Bohème, Madama Butterfly) , Mascagni (Cavalleria Rusticana), Leoncavallo (Pagliacci), Bellini (Norma), Gounod (Faust), Offenbach (the Tales of Hoffmann, la Vie Parisienne), Auber (la Muette de Portici), Janacek (the Cunnig Little Vixen), Gershwin (Porgy and Bess), Boesman (Reigen), Adams (Doctor Atomic).

Since 2007, Alexandra Cravero is artistic director of  Du Bout Des Doigts compagny (France).

From 2011 to 2021, Alexandra Cravero was artistic director of  Les Nuits Musicales de Bazoches festival (France).

Next season, Alexandra Cravero will debut with Bienne Soleure theater. She will conduct again Orchestre de Normandie, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse,  Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, les Frivolités Parisiennes with Tosca, i Pagliacci, François Morel, Final Fantasy XIV …
