Biography

Born in 1977, Alexandra Cravero obtained her “Diplôme d’Etat” at the young age of twenty, and the unanimous first viola prize at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Lyon in Tasso Adamopoulos’s class in 2003. She began her conducting studies with Jean-Pierre Ballon and Jean-Sébastien Béreau at the age of fifteen.

In 2006, Alexandra was invited to join Zsolt Nagy‘s class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris. Since then she has met and worked with Maestros such as Kurt Masur, Pierre Boulez, Philippe Ferro, Pierre-André Valade, Graziella Contratto, and Arie Van Beek. She has been invited to conduct the Ensemble Court Circuit, Orchestre d’Auvergne, as well as the Philharmonic Orchestras of Hungary, Czech Republic and Monaco.

In 2007, Alexandra conducted Total Praise at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. In 2008, she was the assistant on the production of Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen also in Paris. In 2009, she was invited by L’Orchestre des Pays de Savoie and she created her own ensemble, “Du Bout Des Doigts“, in which her focus is to remove the wall that separates the interpreter from the listener.
In 2009, September, she was finalist of the 51st international competition of conductor of Besançon, France. In 2010, June, she participated at the 10th competition of Cadaqués, Spain and the 11th competition of Pedrotti, Italy. In July, she conducted Norma’s production with the symphonic orchestra and choir of Bretagne, France

In 2011, Alexandra obtents the master of conducting of the CNSM, Paris

Between 2011 to 2015, Alexandra Cravero was assistant conductor of La Muette de Portici of Auber’s production in Opera Comique, Paris and in il Teatro di Bari, Italy. She has conducted Norma Production with orchestra and choir of Bretagne, France, Faust of Gounod’s production, Carmen of Bizet’s production, le Nozze di Figaro and die Zauberflote of Mozart’s production, Hoffmann’s Tales, Traviata, Tosca’s productions with ensemble “Du Bout Des Doigts” , Cavalleria Rusticana and Porgy and Bess’s productions with “Note Et Bien” orchestra and choir, Paris, les Pêcheurs de Perles’s production with Opera du Rhin,  Carmen’s production with Normandie orchestra.

During 2016-2017, Alexandra Cravero is invited by Dallas Opera Orchestra,  l’Orchestre de Normandie, l’ensemble Du Bout Des Doigts, l’orchestre Victor Hugo Franche Comté. She will conduct Traviata, Tosca, les Contes d’Hoffmann, Carmen, les Misérables.
